Plan Submitted to Major
League Baseball
The City of Portland and Oregon Stadium
Campaign are submitting to Major League Baseball a comprehensive document that
details the completed finance plan for a Portland MLB ballpark. The finance
plan reflects the collective pledge of the City and OSC to use revenues that
are generated due to the presence of an MLB team and ballpark in Oregon. The
document also provides updated site and costing information from HOK Sport and
illustrates Portland's ability to support an MLB team.
Everybody
involved in this process believes that any reader of this document will be
persuaded that Portland is an MLB city in all aspects finance plan,
ballpark sites and a market that is primed for MLB whether it is for the
Expos, or for a future relocation. As reported recently in the San Francisco
Chronicle,
Portland
is a likely destination for the Oakland A's, should the franchise move from the
Bay Area.
The submission to Major League Baseball is a landmark
moment in Oregon's quest for an MLB team and we extend a sincere thank you to
all of you who have played such a crucial role in the campaign.
