OSC Interview with Dale
Murphy
As part of the ongoing effort to cover the broad
spectrum of baseball, the Oregon Stadium Campaign is pleased to debut our
latest online interview with
MLB great and Portland native Dale Murphy. Dale is arguably the greatest
player to ever come out of Portland, and is currently on the ballot for the
Baseball Hall of Fame. Interview topics include his love of Portland and the
Northwest, Bobby Cox and Joe Torre, Pete Rose, athletes as role models, and his
willingness to "suit up" if an MLB team comes to Portland.
"It's Time to Bring Baseball Home"
Portland
Tribune columnist Dwight Jaynes recently highlighted the urgency of the MLB
campaign with a spirited piece entitled,
"It's time to
bring baseball home". Jaynes reviewed the current status of the campaign
and outlined the final steps that remain, concluding that "major league
baseball is just a hook slide away."
What can you do
to help?
The Oregon Stadium Campaign has made incredible
strides thanks to the support of countless donors and volunteers. There are out
of pocket campaign expenses that are necessary to continue our effort to assist
and accelerate the public process. For that reason, we are actively seeking
support from our thousands of supporters to help pay for marketing and public
relations efforts as the campaign enters its final stage. We encourage you to
consider a small donation of $25, $50, or $100 to help make MLB in Oregon a
reality. In return, you will receive recognition for the donation on the OSC
website and complimentary OSC gifts. Go to the
OSC Supporters
page for details! Thank you to all of
those who have
already stepped up to support the campaign.
